NOC loss comes down

KATHMANDU, Nov. 5: The monthly loss incurred by the state-owned Nepal Oil Corporation has decreased with a decline in the price of crude oil in the international market.



The international market price of crude oil is presently 109 US dollars per barrel, according to the Corporation. It was earlier 123 US dollars.



Accordingly, the loss incurred by the corporation has come down with decreasing price of crude oil in the international market, said Acting Executive Director of the NOC, Suresh Kumar Agrawal.



The state-owned Corporation now suffers a monthly loss of around Rs. 314 million in compared to Rs. 750 million in the month of October.



As per the new price, the NOC makes a profit of Rs. 11.92 in one litre of petrol, Rs. 10.77 in kerosene, Rs. 26.91 in aviation fuel for domestic purpose and Rs. 26.15 per litre in aviation fuel for international fligts.



However, the Corporation continues to bear a lost of Rs. 3.15 per litre of diesel and Rs. 508 per cylinder of cooking gas.
