KATHMANDU, March 16: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Sunday witnessed a landslide fall of 21.63 points to close at 2,714.85 points.
The secondary market opened at 2,736.48 points and went to a straight fall from the beginning of the four-hour trading session of the day. The index reached the day’s low at 2,693.75 points when the trading time was left for one hour and 20 minutes. The market recovered around 21 points in the remaining period before it closed for the day.

Only the trading group added 202.01 points. Among the 12 losers, the life insurance index plunged by the largest of 146.87 points, followed by development banks who lost 131.92 points.
The sensitive index, which measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies, also declined 4.11 points. Daily turnover amount decreased to Rs 6.83 billion from Rs 8.23 billion on Wednesday, the last trading day of the last week.
Among the individual companies, only 32 were gainers while 206 were registered as losers. Himalayan Reinsurance Limited enjoyed the biggest turnover of Rs 586.60 million.
Green Development Bank lost the largest of 7.91 percent of its market value. Samudayik Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited witnessed a gain of 8.19 percent in its market value.
