Nepse inches up 3.31 points, daily turnover slips to just Rs 640.11 million

KATHMANDU, May 16: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) on Tuesday increased marginally by 3.31 points to close at 1,821.62 points.


The market opened at 1,818.31 points and went to the day’s low at 1,810.63 points in the first one hour of trading. The market escalated to as high as 1,827.56 points before it fell around six points to close for the day.

In the intraday trading, 136 listed companies added to their market prices, while 64 companies registered as losers. The sensitive index that measures the performance of the blue chips companies however declined 0.08 points.


Out of the 13 groups, two including banking and ‘others’ had their market prices declined. Out of 11 gainers, non-life insurance gained the largest of 82.70 points.


The daily turnover amount further declined to Rs 640.11 million from Rs 724.96 million on Monday.


Among individual companies, NIC Asia Bank had the biggest transactions of its shares worth Rs 50.14 million. Aatmanirbhar Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited was registered as the topmost gainer while Mai Khola Hydropower Limited lost the highest percent of its market price on the day.
