ROLPA, May 17: The departmental teams Nepal Police Club and Armed Police Force (APF) have lifted the first Speaker’s Cup National Men’s and Women’s Volleyball Tournament, in men’s and women’s categories respectively, on Wednesday.

In men’s category, Police defeated the other departmental team Tribhuvan Army Club 22-21, 17-25, 30-28, 25-23 to lift the title, while APF saw off Nepal Police in straight sets of 25-9, 25-8, 25-20. The winning teams of both the categories were rewarded with Rs 300,000 each, while the runner-ups got Rs 200,000 each. In men’s third place match, Province 4 beat APF 25-20, 25-19, 25-19, while Army thumped Province 5 25-19, 25-8, 25-9 in the women’s third place match. Both the winning teams got Rs 100,000 each.
