Nepal loses to Bangladesh by 9 wkts

KATHMANDU, Oct 26: Nepal women T20 team continued to struggle with the bat as it lost its second match of ACC Women’s T20 Asia Cup to Bangladesh by a comprehensive margin of nine wickets, in Guangzhou, China, on Friday.



Sent in to bat first at Guanggong International Cricket Stadium, Nepal could put only 45 runs on board losing all wickets in 19.3 overs. Bangladesh chased down the target of 46 in 10.3 overs with nine wickets in hand. [break]



For Nepal, Nary Thapa top scored with 12 not out. She faced 33 balls and hit one boundary. Apart from her no other Nepali batswomen could score in double digits.



Bangladeshi bowlers Rumana Ahmed took two wickets and Jahanara Alam, Panna Gosh, Lata Mandal, Tazia Akhtar and Salma Khatun claimed one wicket each. Two Nepali players were run out.



For Bangladesh, Sharmin Akhter made 21 not out, while another opener Lata Mandal scored 14 before being stumped off Karuna Bhandari bowling. Rumana Ahmed remained unbeaten on 5.



A day earlier, Nepal had lost to Sri Lanka by 20 runs. Nepal will play its third and last group stage match against host China on Monday.
