ND's found changing expiry date into manufacturing date: DoFTQC

KATHMANDU, June 5: Nepal Dairy Pvt Ltd has been found altering manufacturing dates of its expired products.



Issuing a statement on Monday, the Department of Food Technology and Quality Control (DoFTQC) said that the company has been been found changing expiry dates of ND's brand of Milk Bar into manufacturing date. The department had inspected Nepal Dairy's factory in Lalitpur after receiving complaint against the company on its Facebook page. 



During the inspection, DoFTQC found 51 cartons containing 20 packets of 40 ml milk bar each having manufacturing date of August 26 and August 27. 



The department has directed Nepal Dairy to withdraw all the milk bars distributed in the market and report to the department within three days.



According to the department, action will be taken against Nepal Dairy as per the Food Act 2023 BS.
