KATHMANDU, Dec 31: Bhoop Dev Shah, chief personal secretary to Kathmandu Metropolitan City Mayor Balendra (Balen) Shah, has decided to contest the upcoming House of Representatives (HoR) election from Achham Constituency-2.
Speaking briefly to Republica over the phone, Shah confirmed that he will contest the election scheduled for March 5 under the election symbol of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP)—the bell. He said preparations for the election are underway.

Shah has been serving as Mayor Balen Shah’s chief personal secretary for the past three years and has worked closely with him since the mayor’s election campaign.
Before joining Kathmandu Metropolitan City, Shah had also served as the personal secretary to the late Ujwal Thapa, the founder of Bibeksheel Nepali.
In the 2022 general election, Achham-2 was won by Pushpa Bahadur Shah of the Nepali Congress.
