KATHMANDU, March 2: The Nepali Congress on Wednesday made a slight change to its already-unveiled election timetable for the 13th General Convention starting tomorrow.

Privy sources said that the schedule was changed following request from NC senior leader Sher Bahadur Deuba.

It is learnt that leader Deuba asked to make changes after an astrologer suggested him to file nomination for party’s presidency only on Friday.

Earlier, NC had allocated 8 am to 5 pm on Thursday to file nominations for the election.

According to the new schedule, list of candidates will be published at 2 pm on Friday.

Changes and claims against the candidates can be made from 3 pm to 5 pm on the same day, according to Coordinator of the Election Committee Radhe Shayam Adhikari.

The final list of candidates will be published at 7 pm on Friday.

No further changes have been made in the election schedule.

As per the schedule, voting for the new leadership will be held from 8 am to 4 pm on Sunday at Rastriya Sabha Griha.

Meanwhile, aspirants for different post are collecting nomination letters at the party’s headquarters in Sanepa.
