KHOTANG, July 2: A mother has won ward member under the Dalit woman category defeating her own daughter in Saunechaur, Barahapokhari Municipality-3 in Khotang.
Manamaya Bishwakarma, a Nepali Congress candidate, defeated her daughter Anita, who contested from the CPN (Maoist Center) in the June 28 local polls.
The mother received 325 votes while her daughter Anita bagged 200 votes, according to Saunechaur's Nepali Congress President Raj Kumar Magar.
Nepali Congress had swept the election in the ward.
