KATHMANDU, July 26: A meeting of office bearers of the UCPN-Maoist on Thursday decided to hold its convention organizing committee meeting on August 1, amid growing internal rift in the aftermath the party´s seventh plenum held in the capital last week.

Emerging from the meeting held at party Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal´s residence in Lazimpat this morning, party Vice-chairman Narayankaji Shrestha said they decided to put the meeting on hold till August 1as the party will, for some time, be totally focused on formal and informal talks for consensus as agreed in a three-party meeting a day earlier. On Tuesday, the convention organizing committee, which was formed after the dissolution of the central committee during the five-day plenary meet, had briefly met, without entering agenda, reportedly due to haggling over allocation of party duties.

The committee is also tasked with carrying out division of works among party leaders. Asked whether today´s meeting  dwelt on the issue of division of works, Shrestha said the party is doing homework in that regard.
