KATHMANDU, April 28: The government has decided to declare public holiday during the lockdown period.
A notification issued by the government through the Nepal Gazette states that the lockdown time announced on March 22 and on various dates after that is public holiday as per Section 2 of the Communicable Diseases Act, 2020 BS.

"The chief of the offices concerned are required to decide to maintain the period during which all government offices, bodies or industries gave a holiday, in accordance with the order issued on March 22 and various dates after that, in the case of employees or workers with the salary and allowances they are entitled to, as a public holiday," the notice in the Nepal Gazette reads.
