“Jungle Villa is the first resort close to the CNP headquarters. We are hopeful that our resort will fulfill the need for modern accommodation,” said Ganesh Poudel, managing director of the resort.
Situated between two big community forests, the resort sprawls over the rich bio-diversity of the Rapti River and the world natural heritage site CNP, which is also home to endangered wild animals like one-horned rhino, Royal Bengal Tiger as well as rare birds and aquatic animals.
“We will make the most of these aspects to make the resort an exciting spot for visitors,” said Poudel, who has more than 30 years of experience in wildlife conservation.
Sabin Poudel, director of the resort, said the resort offers three-day-two-night package for US$350 that includes accommodation, meal and full resort activities. Similarly, the resort offers one-night-two-day packages to guests with limited time.
Elephant safari, cycling, canoeing, fishing, bird watching, jungle trekking and swimming in the Rapti River are some of the recreational activities on offer at the resort.
“Besides, we also offer tours to villages dominated by indigenous communities such as Tharu, Darai, Bote, Musahar and Kumal,” Poudel said.
The resort serves a fixed menu which includes diverse varieties of Indian, Chinese, Italian, continental and western cuisines specially prepared by experienced chefs.
The resort located around 20 km south-west of Bharatpur, the district headquarters of Chitwan, has 21 rooms including standalone huts that accommodate a total 42 guests. It contains family cottages and well-furnished superior rooms equipped with modern amenities.
“Besides, well-maintained orchard, beautifully designed restaurants and well-stocked bars are other attractions of the resort. To make the stay of guests more exciting, the resort also organizes performances by artistes from indigenous communities,” he said.
Established with an investment of over Rs 40 million, the resort has given high priority to employing local youths. “We have already offered jobs to 15 youths in our resort,” he added.
