KATHMANDU, Jan 26: Janta Samajwadi Party (JSP), Nepal has expressed serious concern over the shooting of protesters during the ongoing 'No Cable Car Movement' in the Taplejung, Pathibhara area.
Spokesperson Manish Suman stated in a release, "It is highly condemnable and reprehensible that the state intentionally targeted people and fired upon them while they were preparing for a peaceful protest." The statement continued, "JSP Nepal demands immediate cessation of the cable car construction in the area, in line with the protesters' demands, and calls for an immediate halt to the police repression against the demonstrators."

JSP Nepal has stated that the police indiscriminately fired during a protest launched by identity advocates, seriously injuring many protesters, including Yam Bahadur Limbu, Sagun Lawati, and Dharman Palungwa. The protest was organized by those who claim that the language, religion, rights, and identity of the local people are being erased.
JSP Nepal has wished for the swift recovery of the injured protesters and demanded that the Nepal government arrange free treatment for all of them.
