KATHMANDU, Jan 23: In a bid to attract more international flights to these new airports, the government has waived the airport service fee that was included in international flight tickets from the international airports in Pokhara and Bhairahawa. This fee is equivalent to Rs 3,000 per passenger.
According to Binod Prakash Singh, secretary of the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, it has been decided to completely waive the airport service fee until September 2026.

With the new provision in place, the fare of flights from these airports will now be reduced by at least Rs 3,000 per ticket. Currently, the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) charges a passenger service fee of Rs 3,000 per ticket.
This fee remains the same for flights abroad from the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu. The government has said that this decision has been taken to attract airlines and passengers to these new airports.
