KATHMANDU, Feb 10: The government and armed Tarai group called Liberation Tigers of Tarai Elam (LTTE) inked a five-point agreement in Birgunj on Saturday.
As per the agreement, both sides will cease armed activities and the government will provide security to the group´s talks team during the talks period.
It has been agreed that the government would release the group’s arrested cadres after thorough investigation of the list provided by the group and they will work to bring other armed Tarai groups to talks.
The government team was led by Minister for Peace and Reconstruction Janardan Sharma and the group´s headed by Ram Lochan Thakhur ´Swami´.
