According to the District Agricultural Development Office, Gorakha, farmers in the district have been using hybrid seeds of vegetable crops since the last five years. They have also been using the imported hybrid seeds of paddy, maize and wheat since the last two years.[break]
This year alone, farmers here used over six thousand kilogrammes of seeds of improved varieties of paddy. Farmers used large quantity of seeds of improved varieties of maize followed by paddy. They have also been using hybrid seeds of wheat in large quantity.
