Gold price hits new record, surpasses Rs 250,000 per tola

According to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association, the price of gold increased by Rs 2,000 per tola on Thursday compared to Wednesday’s rate.

KATHMANDU, Oct 16: The price of gold has surged to a new record high, crossing Rs 250,000 per tola in the domestic market.



According to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association, the price of gold increased by Rs 2,000 per tola on Thursday compared to Wednesday’s rate.

With the latest rise, fine gold is now trading at Rs 250,900 per tola. On Wednesday, gold had gone up by Rs 400 to reach Rs 248,900 per tola, while on Tuesday, it was traded at Rs 248,500 per tola.


Similarly, the price of silver also increased by Rs 35 per tola to reach Rs 3,275. On Wednesday, silver had dropped by Rs 95 to Rs 3,240 per tola.


In the international market, gold is currently priced at USD 4,233.41 per ounce, while silver stands at USD 53.08 per ounce.
