RAUTAHAT, Oct 14: Life has returned to normal in Gaur from today following nearly two months of shutdown and general strike due to the agitation by the United Democratic Madhesi Front.

The UDMF comprising various Madhes-centric parties had been waging an agitation since August 13, protesting the delineation of the federal provinces and the new constitution.Shopkeepers have opened shops and traders resumed their business after the market opened today. Banks and financial institutions that had remained closed during the period have also opened.

Although the shutdown has eased, not a large number of service-seekers is seen at the government offices in the district headquarters. RSS
