The finale of the tournament will be held on 21 July, Saturday at the Bhrikuti Mandap Exhibition hall and will also be aired live on Channel Nepal.

The tournament has three categories that gamers can participate in, the Fifa ’12 Tournament, the Counter-Strike tournament and the Defense of the Ancients (DOTA) tournament.

64 individual players have registered for the Fifa ’12 one-on-one tournament where as there are 25 and 24 teams registered for the Counter-Strike and DOTA team tournaments.

“We used to play multi-player games constantly but we only got the opportunity to play with our friends or with our social circles and that is why we decided to organize a bigger event to accommodate lots of other players,” says 24-year-old Raju Tamang, Managing Director at Nepal Gamers Club.

“This is the first gaming event in a large scale to take place in Kathmandu and we plan to organize bigger events for gamers based in Nepal. We want gamers to find a platform to showcase their skills to the mass and even compete with large groups of gamers,” he adds.

The winners for each category will bag a cash prize of Rs 25,000 whereas the second and third prize winners will be bagging a cash prize of Rs 15,000 and Rs 10,000 respectively.
