Four from Bhaktapur swept away by Bering Khola in Rasuwa, missing

Out of a group of 16, the first eight had safely crossed the river, while the remaining eight attempted to cross. During the process, four were swept away by the river and remain missing, according to District Police Chief Hem Shahi.

RASUWA, Oct 5:  Four trekkers from Bhaktapur heading to Langtang were swept away by the Bering Khola in Gosainkunda Rural Municipality-4, police said.



Out of a group of 16, the first eight had safely crossed the river, while the remaining eight attempted to cross. During the process, four were swept away by the river and remain missing, according to District Police Chief Hem Shahi.

The missing have been identified as Sanskriti Shrestha, Kishan Shrestha, Sangeeta Shrestha, and Rabi Shrestha of Bhaktapur-10. Sanskriti, Kishan and Sangeeta are from the same family.


They were staying overnight at a hotel in Byambo (Ward-5) before continuing towards Langtang when the incident occurred. Police teams have been deployed for the search, but authorities said the lack of road access to the site is causing delays.
