The Memorandum of Understandings (MoUs) were signed on the sideline of the 26th conference of the Confederation of Asia-Pacific Chambers of Commerce and Industry (CACCI) that began on Wednesday in Kathmandu.[break]
Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (UCCET) and Georgian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) signed the agreement with FNCCI -- the umbrella organization of Nepalese private sector.
A press statement issued by FNCCI said, Suraj Vaidya, president of FNCCI and Rona Yircali, president of UCCET and Jemal Inaishvilla of GCCI signed the deals on behalf of their respective organizations.
As per the agreement between FNCCI and UCCET, both sides have agreed to set up a separate business council to promote investment between the two countries. Similarly, Georgian business delegation has also agreed to expand economic cooperation with Nepal.
Stating that CACCI conference is an opportunity to promote Nepal, Vaidya expressed confidence that both pacts would prove to be a milestone for economic development of Nepal.
He also urged the business people from both Turkey and Georgia to invest in tourism, agriculture, infrastructure, hydropower, education and health, among others in Nepal, which has also been observing Nepal Investment Year 2012/13.
Yircali of UCCET said Turkey was interested to support Nepal for the development of tourism in Nepal and assured that direct air-link will be established between both countries by next year.
Inaishv of GCCI termed the agreement a historical for enhancing economic cooperation between Nepal and Georgia.
Similarly, FNCCI office bearers also held talks with Russian delegation which is also participating at the CACCI conference. On the occasion, the Russian side assured of increasing support in economic and human resources development in Nepal.
