Flames erupted during the drilling process and turned into a blaze. Even when water was poured, the fire did not extinguish, as shown in the footage.

Upon arriving at the scene, the police notified the Department of Mines and Geology, and extinguished the fire using artificial methods.

Monica Jha, spokesperson for the Department of Mines and Geology, said the department's study shows the presence of natural gas (methane) in the Kathmandu Valley. "It is methane gas mixed with underground water," she explained. "When drilling, they should not have lit the fire nearby, but they did. The flames ignited when they came into contact with the gas. In such situations, nothing can be done. The fire will extinguish on its own after a while."

Meanwhile, the police confirmed that they had extinguished the fire.
