Himalaya Airlines to fly from Pokhara to Lhasa

The international airline Himalaya Airlines will operate flights from Pokhara to Lhasa starting from March 31. The Pokhara Regional International Airport (PRIA) is set to commence regular commercial flights after 27 months of operation.

KATHMANDU, March 3: The international airline Himalaya Airlines will operate flights from Pokhara to Lhasa starting from March 31. The Pokhara Regional International Airport (PRIA) is set to commence regular commercial flights after 27 months of operation. 


As per the current plan, Himalaya Airlines will operate a Kathmandu-Lhasa flight from Tribhuvan International Airport at 8:30 am on March 31. The plane will arrive at Lhasa Gonggar International Airport at 12:05 pm local time in China. On the same day, a Himalaya Airlines flight will operate a Lhasa-Pokhara flight at 1:15 pm.

Similarly, the airline has stated that it will operate a Pokhara-Lhasa flight from PRIA at 8:20 am local time on April 1. The plane will arrive in Kathmandu from Lhasa on the same day.


Himalaya Airlines said that it aims to strengthen air connectivity between Nepal and China through its new Pokhara route. The airline said that the Kathmandu-Lhasa-Pokhara-Lhasa-Kathmandu flight will strengthen people-to-people ties between the two countries and promote tourism and trade.
