The company used its wide-body cargo aircraft to transport relief material to Kathmandu. The aircraft landed at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) in Kathmandu on Sunday evening. According to a statement issued on Sunday, the aircraft will return to US via Dubai and return with more relief material on Monday.FedEx is bringing nearly 80 tons of relief material for earthquake victims of Nepal. In a message posted on its Facebook page, FedEx said the supplies will positively impact thousands of lives. It has also collected relief material from other organizations like Heart to Heart International and Water Missions.
According to the company's Facebook page, the relief material include medicines enough to treat 210,000 people for a month, tents for maternity care and women's health, and infant supplies.
Heart to Heart International has provided relief materials worth $350,000 to Nepali earthquake victims. Similarly, Water Missions has contributed relief material worth $125,000.
Officials of FedEx said the relief materials will be distributed through different government agencies and non-government organizations.
