KATHMANDU, Jan 23: Come Sunday and all filmmaking activities in the country will come to a halt. The shooting, recording and other post production activities are being brought to a standstill to intensify the protest of the Film Development Board.

The FDB is also demanding that movie theatres do not screen the Hindi film ‘Race 2’ which is set to release this Friday. The film requires the work of the censor board and as the board is dismantled there will be no censoring of the film, and hence no screening.[break]

Nawal Khadka, Chairman of Nepal Cine Artists Association said, “Three more organizations have joined us; Nepal Sangeet Samaj, Nepal Geetkar Samaj and Nepal Gayan Samaj. We are all fighting for the same cause now.”

Actor Benisha Hamal offers Nisha Adhikari refreshments on Wednesday morning before exchanging places at the protest against government in Kathmandu. The Film Development Board started its protest since January 9.

The members of the FDB are still continuing their protest against the government after claiming that the government has ignored it demands, time and again. After receiving empty promises from the Information and Communication Minister, Raj Kishor Yadav, the FDB had started its protest from January 9.
