KATHMANDU, March 23: Scientist Mahabir Pun of the National Innovation Center chastised Energy Minister Deepak Khadka and called for an apology.
"Energy Minister, either improve your performance to appease the public, as Kulman Ghising has done or issue an apology. You will be forgiven by the public," Pun wrote on Facebook.
Talks with govt are positive: Mahabir Pun

Pun underlined in his earlier statement that "The nation dies and perishes when the economy collapses." Electricity is the only power that can save and build a nation in the twenty-first century. Close your eyes for a moment and picture what a nation without electricity would look like. The Nepal Electricity Authority, previously teetering on the edge of failure, continues to function. Considering the Energy Minister’s greed and recklessness, one can readily assume the scale of his corrupt activities. Ministers’ supporters intend to dismiss those performing commendable tasks. With the nation facing adversity, some are fighting for survival.
Minister Khadka and the Executive Director of the Nepal Electricity Authority, Kulman Ghising, do not have a good relationship. Khadka has repeatedly sought clarifications from Ghising and wants to remove him from his position.
In this context, Pun suggested that Khadka apologize. Earlier, Pun had also advised Kulman to contest the election against Khadka in the latter’s constituency.
