KATHMANDU, March 25: The National Youth Federation Nepal (NYFN), affiliated with the CPN-UML, has expressed objection to the recent statement made by Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) Mayor Balen Shah (Balenendra Shah) and has demanded legal action.

In a press release issued on Tuesday, NYFN’s President Dipesh Sudhakar alleged that Mayor Shah made an objectionable statement on social media, saying “I will bury you in Tukucha” under the influence of alcohol.

The NYFN has accused Shah of exaggerating the issue of employees' salaries being halted due to his own shortcomings and making the objectionable statement, “I will bury you in Tukucha.”  “We urge him to refrain from making such statements while forgetting his official responsibilities and seeking cheap popularity by enjoying clubs,” the NYFN stated.

The NYFN has demanded that Mayor Shah’s statement, which it claims incites the public, be brought to legal scrutiny immediately. "Making irresponsible statements such as ‘I will set fire to Singhadurbar’ or ‘I will bury you in Tukucha’ is unacceptable. We strongly urge the concerned authorities to hold Mayor Shah accountable and bring him to the legal process,” the NYFN statement reads further.

The NYFN has demanded that Shah be brought under legal scrutiny and investigated, warning of strong pressure on the concerned authorities to take action.
