KATHMANDU, March 25: Nepal's fully electric pickup truck, the Riddara RD6 4WD, was unveiled on Monday at an event in Hattiban Resort, Pharping, allowing participants to test its off-road performance. The vehicle, introduced by CG Motors, features an all-electric platform with an emphasis on off-road capability.
According to the company, the Riddara RD6 4WD offers a range of 424 km on a 73kWh battery and is designed for diverse terrain with seven driving modes, including Sand, Mud, Off-road, and Wading. It also features a 540-degree surround-view camera for enhanced visibility and driving safety. As part of the launch, attendees participated in a 4WD Adventure Drive, testing the vehicle's handling across rugged trails.

Priced at an introductory Rs 79.99 lakh, the Riddara RD6 4WD enters Nepal's market at a time when the country is seeing a steady shift towards electric mobility. While government policies encourage EV adoption, challenges such as infrastructure development and charging networks remain key considerations.
The vehicle has already gained recognition in China, where it is marketed as the No.1 EV pickup. Its parent company, Geely Auto Group, ranks among China's top 10 automakers. With this launch, CG Motors aims to expand Nepal's EV sector, catering to both urban and off-road users seeking sustainable and technologically advanced alternatives.
