They have also been staging a sit-in in front of the VDC office over the same issue. As many as 70 people are participating in the sit-in.The VDC secretary Hari Gopal Gainda told RSS over the phone that the amount of Rs 10,000 could not be provided to the 72 people as the amount had not been released for them because of the complaint against them at the District Administration Office that they had taken relief by producing fake identity cards of earthquake affected.
He said that they were however given Rs 15,000 that the government had provided to the earthquake survivors before this.
Dal Bahadur Karki of Pangretar VDC-5, who is one of those not getting the amount, said that they would continue the lockout at the VDC office for some days and if they do not get the amount even then the families of all the 72 people deprived the amount will stage a sit-in at the District Administration Office.
It is stated that an all-party meeting some days back had decided to take initiative for recommending these people also for the relief amount saying they were all genuine earthquake affected people.
The 72 people staging the sit-in allege the VDC secretary of not recommending their names for the relief despite the all-party decision.
The Chief District Officer Gokarna Dawadi said the relief amount to them would be provided only after scrutinising who among them are the genuine earthquake affected and who are not as complaints have been received against them. RSS
