The Ramechhap police also said they have been unable to reach his family by phone.

Dr Shrestha stated that he was transferred from Ramechhap District Hospital to Hetauda and claimed that false accusations were made against him. He was transferred from Ramechhap Hospital to the Bagmati Province Health Ministry in Hetauda at the end of the month of Ashar.

In his long Facebook post, Shrestha shared his struggles from becoming a doctor to facing resistance in hospital management, his efforts against corrupt practices, and the injustices he endured as a result. He wrote that the Ministry of Health, some political leaders, and certain hospital staff conspired to defame him and cause him mental distress.

In the post, he also apologized to his mother, wife, and daughter. He apologized to his family for the hardship caused and expressed deep disappointment and feelings of defeat. He called for justice against those responsible.

Taking to Facebook, he wrote, “I am suffering punishment without having committed any fault. Until those who cause me pain and force me toward suicide are punished according to the law, my soul will not find peace. I stayed in a remote area for two years and made the hospital excellent (ranked third best in Nepal when it had 15 beds and now second best in Bagmati Province with 50 beds). Instead of being rewarded, I have faced disciplinary action.”
