CHITWAN, April 5: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Women, Children and Social Welfare, CP Mainali, has admitted that government failed to stop black marketing despite utmost efforts.

Talking to media persons here Tuesday, DPM Mainali, however, said the government has not remained idle at all to curb thriving black marketing. Supply of petroleum products could help stop black marketing, he argued. On a different note, he said it was government's achievement that the trade and transport agreement was signed with China.

According to the DPM, government has now focused on making the country self-dependent.

Moreover, DPM Mainali said the government would not do anything to offend its neighbours, saying the government was capable to solve the internal problems.

He said it was good to change the incumbent government into a national consensus government by bringing on board the Nepali Congress rather than installing a new government. If not so, the NC, as the major opposition, should support government on its bid to effective implementation of the new constitution.

The DPM underscored the need of talks and dialogue to resolve the multifarious problems. RSS
