Dibya Amatya won the prepaid category with the score of 35 stable ford points on the count back. Both the winners received trophy and Black Berry handset with one year of BB service and pro plus yearly.[break]
Dong playing of 6 handicap on 3/4 handicap allowance shot 16 points in the front nine and came back strong with 20 points on the back nine. Amatya played consistently 18 points on the front nine and 17 points on the back nine.
Gopal Chitrakar lost with Amatya on the count back to finish second on the pre-paid category, he scored 20 points on the front nine and 15 points on the back nine. Ang Tshiring Sherpa scored 34 points to finish second on the corporate category.
Wangchen Dhondup scored 32 gross points to clinch the best gross prize. Kesang Lama won the ladies´ title with the score of 31 points. KNS Thapa won the seniors´ category while Tenzing Palden scored 21 points in nine holes to win the Best Junior Golfer title.
LB Gurung won the closest to the pin award and Neeraj Rana won the longest drive award. CEO of Ncell Pasi Koistinen and President of Gokarna Golf Club, Suhrid Ghimire gave away the prizes to the winners.
Altogether 108 amateur golfers, who are also Ncell customer, took part in the tournament sponsored by Ncell Pvt Ltd. There were four female and nine junior participants in the tournament.
NPC on top
Nepal Police Club (NPC), defending champion Gyanu Baba Higher Secondary School and Angel´s Heart registered victories on Sunday in the Seventh Dhorpatan Blue Sky Cup Women´s Double League Volleyball Tournament.
NPC overcame New Diamond Academy 25-9, 25-21, 25-16 and topped the points table with 23 points.
Gyanu Baba defeated Armed Police Force (APF) 25-17, 25-20, 25-17 on Sunday to remain on the second position with 22 points and a game in hand.
In the last match of the day, Angel´s Heart beat Chandeshori Youth Club from Ramechhap 25-8, 25-8, 25-11.
AIA, Teresa reach semis
Awareness International Academy (AIA) reached the semifinals in the junior boys´ category of the Third Teresa Academy Inter School Basketball Tournament.
AIA defeated host Teresa 17-13 on Sunday as Subash Sen scored 13 points. With the win, AIA topped group A of the tournament.
Despite the loss, Teresa also qualified for the semifinals as a runner-up. In another league match of junior boys´ section, Gyan Niketan beat Ideal English School 28-17.
In senior girls´ section, Deneb thrashed Midland 12-2.
INTA forms UK chapter
International Nepalese Taekwondo Association (INTA) established its UK chapter under the presidency of Namar Jung Thapa.
The INTA meeting on January 2 at its headquarters in USA took the decision to form the UK chapter.
Buddhi Kumar Gurung, Than Kumar Limbu, Jayant Thapa and Balram Ghale are the vice-presidents. Harry Gurung has received the responsibility of General Secretary and Bhim Mahendra Gurung is appointed as associate general secretary.
Sabina Maharjan is the treasurer of the chapter while Prem Kumar Gurung has been nominated as technical director.
