Discounts, offers galore at Made in Nepal expo

KATHMANDU, Sept 8: If you are planning to start your shopping for Dashain, the ´Made in Nepal Products and Service Expo´ at Bhrikutimadap can be the best place to visit as exhibiters have offered discounts up to 50 percent on numerous products.



In shopping at the expo, you will not just save money, but also contribute to promoting Nepali products.[break]



The expo is being organized by the Nepali Young Entrepreneurs Forum (NYEF) in association with Direction Nepal and the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI), with an objective of promoting locally manufactured products and service industries.



Expo visitors can get various offers and discounts on a variety of items such as carpets, biscuits, CDs, pashmina products, tea, oil, candles, hemp products, leather bags, shoes, readymade garments, bedsheets, bags, electronic goods, cosmetics and handicraft products, among others.



Customers interested in carpets can get around 20 to 30 percent off on Nepali carpets. Likewise they can get 15 percent off on bedsheets, 25 percent on biscuits, 30 percent on pashmina products and up to 50 percent off on shoes and readymade garments.



Similarly, customers can get 1 CD free on the purchase of 2, half litre of Marigold oil free on the purchase of 3 litres and go for various buy-one-get-one free cosmetic items.



Other products such as tea, cosmetics, herbal products, bedsheets, T-shirts, hemp sandals, bags and candles are also available at a discount. Besides, customers interested in nail art and mehendi application can udergo the treatment at a very cheaper price.



Pashupati KC, director of Direction Exhibition and Convention Center (DECC) said that the exhibition is not only aimed at promoting products at the local level but also targeting the export of Nepali products. He said that to promote Nepali products similar expos will be organized outside the capital and in SAARC countries as well from this year.



The expo has 140 stalls showcasing products from 90 local producers. Various side events such as live concerts, comedy shows, movie shows and a fun-park for children as well as free health check-ups are some of the attractions of the expo.



The organizers have targeted around 100,000 visitors in the four-day expo that ends on Sunday. According to KC, more than 80,000 visitors have been recorded as of Saturday.



Customers visiting the expo do not have to worry about any entrance fee as it is free.
