The meeting, at the Special Committee secretariat in New Baneshwor, was convened to see if the leaders could agree on the disputed issues of new statue. The parties earlier have an understanding that the Constituent Assembly (CA) could be restored if all the prickly issues are settled. [beak]
Emerging from the meeting, Nepali Congress Vice-president Ram Chandra Paudel, however, informed that, despite discussion on all the issues, the leaders could not forge consensus on any of the disputes.
Paudel added the leaders will sit for next round of talks on Wednesday after holding internal discussions in their respective parties. Going for fresh polls remains the other option should the parties fail to agree on the CA’s reinstatement.
