The government's utter failure particularly in controlling black market, hoarding and creation of artificial shortage of fuels and other essential goods that led to unusual inflation has become the major reason to disappoint general public as well as members of his party, CPN-UML.
UML office bearers and other members have started to express publicly as well as in private conversations their discontent toward the government's failure.
The prime minister's recent statements that made unreliable promises have only further fueled public anger, specially when the public has not witnessed any in the scarcity of essential goods and are facing hassles in accessing basic service like public transportation.
UML Secretary Gokarna Bista said the government has shown poor performance in resolving the issue of India-imposed blockade and providing relief to the general public from the artificial scarcity in the market and steep price hikes.
Stating that black marketers have been running parallel economy, he said that the government authorities should have taken strong measure to stop it.
"The government has failed to work as per public aspirations. The government may find itself in trouble if it failed to improve the situation immediately," Bista told Republica. "I suggest the prime minister to focus on delivering instead of making tall promises."
Several other leaders including party secretary Yogesh Bhattarai have started expressing their dissatisfaction towards the government's performance in social media.
Indicating Oli, Bhattarai on Sunday wrote on twitter that the prime minister did nothing more than adding his photo on the row of prime ministers' photos at the the prime minister office.
However, Party's standing committee member Shankar Pokharel replied him on the timeline saying that Bhattarai's criticism was too early and not based on ground realities.
Similarly, another secretary of the party Pradeep Gyawali urged not to forget the context of the time while evaluating the government performanc. "Everyone knows about the backdrop in which the prime minister had assumed the office," said Gyawali.
He claimed that despite several weaknesses the government is about to resolve the issue of blockade and claimed that talks for resolving disputes with the agitating Madhesi parties were inching closure towards an agreement.
Gyawali further added that the prime minister had taken very bold initiatives that may benefit the country with historic achievements. "It is due to the prime minister's very bold and firm stance, Indian government has been compelled to review its latest policy on Nepal and backtrack from its moves. This is a huge achievement for a country like Nepal," he said. "Also, the government has made significant progress toward signing a deal with China that will eventually diversify Nepal's trade that has remained dependent on India for long."
On the government's failure to provide relief to the earthquake victims that have been living pathetic life in quake-hit districts, Gyawali defended the government stating that though albeit late, it has nevertheless expedited reconstruction and rehabilitation tasks in the recent weeks.
