Blankets, tarpaulins, biscuits, and noodles were among the relief materials distributed to the fire victims.“I was deeply hurt when I learnt about the destruction of an entire settlement by fire,” DIGP Ghimire told Republica. Soon after he started a campaign to support the fire victims, relief materials worth Rs 350,000 were collected. The relief brought smiles on the faces of 23 fire victims who lost everything to Sunday's blaze.

“Today, I feel that the police are our friends,” one of the fire victims, Mahabir Yadav, told Republica. “I have realized that the views I held about the police was wrong,” he added.
