The court decided to give them a clean chit after they were found uninvolved in any of the charges filed by the anti-graft body.
The CIAA had filed corruption cases against them on May 25, 2014 for their alleged involvement in misappropriation of public funds while importing medicines for pregnant women in remote hilly regions of the country. The body had also sought a total fine of Rs 72,713,908 from all the accused and sought maximum punishment for them accusing them of swindling huge amount of health budget under the pretext of procuring the drug Misprostol.
Among those officers acquitted by the court include the then chief of Supply Management Division of the Department of Health Dr Naresh Pratap KC, the then senior director of the same division Krishna Bahadur Chand, and serving officer of Procurement Unit of the Supply Division Pawan Koirala.
Last year, the court had given clean chit to public health officer Ram Sundar Yadav and public health inspector Hemlal Gyawali after the court could not find evidences of their involvement in irregularities as charged by the CIAA.
