KATHMANDU, Jan 11: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said contribution of the late King Prithvi Narayan Shah in uniting the nation could never be ignored.
Addressing a reception organized by the Rastriya Prajatantra Party-Nepal on the occasion of the 294th Prithvi Janayanti (birth anniversary of the late King Shah) and National Unification Day, the Prime Minister said the person making a special contribution for the noble cause of the country in history is always and should be remembered.

Stating that no political system is superior to democracy, he said the country was practicing a competitive political system based on multi-party system and occasional misunderstandings among the political parties in this system should be taken as usual.
The country is now making its way towards a positive direction, he said.
On the occasion, RPP Nepal Chair and Deputy Prime Minister Kamal Thapa said the National Unity Day was an inspiration for us to contribute for national unity, integrity and for safeguarding country's sovereignty. The celebration of the National Unity Day made the Nepali citizens feel pride for being a Nepali and towards the nation.
