Breach of trust

Ability to rely on others is a rare asset

A breach of trust rears its ugly head when siblings demand a fair share of parental affection, individuals compete for the same post or whenever volatile emotions take center stage. These cause a breach of emotions and make a mockery of self and credibility.

Sibling rivalry occurs between offsprings of the same parents and even if it at first goes unnoticed it soon surfaces in a different guise. Because it happens when they are barely able to speak, act and think for themselves, as they grow up it leaves them fighting tooth-and-nail, even though they might not be aware of the root of their emotions. This makes for periods of loneliness even when there are children of the same age group around.

When contestants vie for the one and only vacancy it lead to backbiting, bickering and casting of slurs, though these cannot be substantiated. It somehow affects the atmosphere of the moment and discredits the selection procedure conducted in an otherwise professional manner. If one were to succumb to it could lead to suspicion and hostility. So to regain control of the situation becomes difficult and the management is at a loss on how to go about it.

While emotions are easily aroused, they reach a peak and level off to bring about certain changes. It is a harbinger of lies and deceit and assumes a role not to be dismissed. It is an insidious creepy feeling and forces one to seek solace elsewhere. Thus the stage is set within which one festers and becomes anxious, not knowing what to expect next.

Trusting individuals are hard to find given the scenario under which they operate and the stress imposed as a consequence. They go about their daily routine mindful of how to reciprocate the trust placed upon them. Venturing into unknown territory is not without its dangers; a trustworthy guide is an asset and inevitable as well. Even if the coast is clear and there is no reason to worry about a hidden menace they fee burdened by the added responsibility.

Ordinary people cannot be taken to task because of a breach in trust. No one can take them into custody for a moment of temptation which can befall anyone from the beggar to the nobleman. Thus they cannot be sued for libel or slander and taken into account. Perhaps this is why there is something about innocent rustic folks who do not go for immediate gains but trust their instincts.

When one is imbued with trust then all else pales in comparison. The fact to be considered is that it is not a curtain raiser—waiting for an applause.

Trust can be said to keep a low profile even when it makes its presence felt in an unstable situation. But then it cannot be stereotyped to mean something else. As one can say it works its magic without undue fuss. It is not to be placed on a pedestal and snubbed by critics and high-brow intellectuals ready to challenge it merits.
