BIZ BRIEFS:CG Foundation organizes eye camp

KATHMANDU : As a part of it Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activity, CG Foundation in partnership with Help Age International along with its implementing partner Nepal Netra Jyoti Sangh (NNJS) recently organized eye camp in Dumkibas of Nawalparasi.



According to a press statement issued by the foundation, 241 patients received free treatment at the camp. Similarly, 41 cataract surgeries were carried out in the camp. The foundation has been organizing eye camps in different parts of the country under its ´Operation Drishti´ campaign. The upcoming eye treatment camps will be held in Koththar in the second week of April. Under the ´Operation Drishti´ campaign, the foundation conducted 1,153 cataract surgeries between November 2011 and March 2012. "CG follows a participative model for its CSR initiatives under the banner of CG Foundation offering health care to the low income senior citizens," said the statement.



Shine Resunga Dev Bank starts operation

KATHMANDU (REPUBLICA): Shine Resunga Dvelopment Bank formed by the merger of two development banks -- Shine development Bank, Butwal and Reshunga Development Bank, Tamghas -- has commenced operation. According to a press release issued on Sunday, Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) Governor DrYaba Raj Khatiwada formally inaugurated the merged entity amid a function in Tamghas.



The bank has authorized capital of Rs 640 million. The bank has been serving more than 62,000 customers, according to the statement.



ADBL starts forex service

KATHMANDU (REPUBLICA): Agricultural Development Bank has started foreign exchange service from its 10 branch offices located in different parts of the country. According to a press statement issued by the bank, the service will be available from its offices in Ramshahpath, Thamel, New Road, Mangal Bazar and Tripureshwar in the Kathmandu Valley and Pokhara, Dharan, Damak, Bhairahawa and Lumbini outside the valley. The branch plans to provide foreign exchange facility in all its branch offices in the future, said the statement.



Triloki Jeera Masino rice in market

KATHMANDU (REPUBLICA): Mohit Group has introduced Triloki Jeera Masino rice in the domestic market. Issuing a press statement on Sunday, the group said the rice will by available in two varieties -- Sona Mansuli and Steam Jeera Masino. "A 25 kg pack of Steam Jeera Masino will cost Rs 1,500, while a bag (30kg) of Sona Mansuli will be available at Rs 1,300," reads the statement. The group has claimed that the rice is relatively better than other brands of rice available in the market.
