KATHMANDU, March 13: Holi, one of the major festivals observed in Nepal, is being joyfully observed today in the Himalayan region, Kathmandu Valley, and other hilly districts. Foreign nationals are also participating in this vibrant festival of colors.
In Kathmandu's Basantapur area, foreign tourists have also celebrated Holi by playing with colors. Various locations across the Kathmandu Valley are bustling with people celebrating the festival.

In this context, Holi has been grandly celebrated at Basantapur in Kathmandu, with the participation of foreign tourists as well. Also called Phagu Poornima, people celebrate this festival by smearing colourful powders and throwing coloured water at each other while at the same time dancing and singing.
Holi, which is often considered the second biggest religious festival, indicates the beginning of the spring season.
