Band Amir Lake in Bamyan province, central Afghanistan. Bamyan province, with Bamyan city as its capital, is located 200 km west of Afghanistan's capital Kabul. It was once a major tourist destination and a prosperous town in Afghanistan in the pre-war period some three and a half decades ago. (Xinhua/RSS)
