During the discussions held by the Ministry of Information and Communications with the representatives of concerned authorities including the media Thursday in view of the upcoming Democracy Day, Minister for Information and Communications Sherdhan Rai said the celebration of this year's Democracy Day would be special as it comes after the country witnessed the promulgation of the democratic constitution. The enforcement of the constitution would be focused while observing the Democracy Day.Minister Rai, also the coordinator of Democracy Day Dissemination Sub Committee said the Democracy Day celebrations will be observed for three days-- from February 18-20.
The Ministry has urged the Radio Nepal, Nepal Television, Association of Community Radio Broadcasters ( ACORAB) Nepal, Kathmandu Valley FM Radio Broadcasters Association to air democracy day-related messages on the occasion of the Democracy Day.
Similarly, the National News Agency (RSS) has been directed to collect news about the Democracy Day and produce write-ups and articles on the topic and dispatch them.
Likewise, Radio Nepal, Nepal Television and other FM radio and television channels to carry out live presentation and telecast of the Democracy Day-related activities.
Nepal Film Development Board will organise a morning rally on the occasion while the Gorkhapatra and other print media would bring out special editions with a focus on the Democracy Day. RSS
