KATHMANDU, Dec 18: Vote counting for the selection of new leadership at the 11th General Convention of the CPN-UML is underway. A close contest has emerged between Shankar Pokhrel and Surendra Pandey for the post of general secretary.
According to the latest update, Pokhrel, backed by incumbent party Chair KP Sharma Oli, has secured 364 votes, while Pandey, representing the Ishwar Pokhrel faction, has garnered 302 votes.
