Speaking at a press meet following the party's province number 2 committee meeting on Monday in Bardibas of Mahottari district, Chairman Dahal assured that the ongoing crisis will be resolved within two or three days as he and his party are taking serious initiatives to forge consensus for addressing the demands of the agitating Madhes-based parties.
He said the Sunday evening dialogue between three major political parties and the agitating Madhesi parties has created a favorable environment for reaching a decisive agreement through dialogue within a few days.
"We have decided to form a committee comprising representatives of three major political parties and the agitating Madhesi Morcha for reaching an agreement within three days and resolve the current crisis," said Dahal, adding that, Sunday's meeting decided to form the committee after the agitating Morcha did not agree to the proposal of the major political parties on forming a commission and resolving the delineation issue within three months.
He said that Chairman of the Tarai Madhes Democratic Party Mahantha Thakur has decided to be in the committee though some prominent Madhesi leaders like Hridayesh Tripathi declined to be in the committee.
"During Sunday's talks, Thakur was affirmative about giving three months for resolving the delineation issue. I am confident that the crisis will be resolved within few days," he added.
He said that his party has been constantly lobbying to address the genuine demands of the Madhesi Morcha.
"It is also my responsibility to address the demands of Madhesi parties as many of their demands were also the demands of my party," he said.
He said that the Madhesi Morcha (United Democratic Madhesi Front) should stop being rigid on its demands and immediately lift the blockade.
"If the Madhesi Morcha is really serious and concerned about the plight of the general public, it should immediately lift the blockade and allow passage to fuel vehicles," said Dahal.
He said that if the agitating parties change the nature of their protests and sit for talks, the ongoing crisis will be resolved within a few days.
