Finnish envoy meets PM

KATHMANDU, July 12: Pirkko Liisa Kyostila, the Charge de Affaires of Finland to Nepal, paid a farewell call to Prime Minister Jhala Nath Khanal at his office on Tuesday.



She will be leaving on July 22.[break]



PM Khanal expressed his appreciation of the contribution made by Kyostila in developing friendship between two countries, during the meeting.



He also expressed gratitude for continued economic cooperation from Finland and hoped that the level of cooperation would further increase in the future.



Kyostila expressed the Finnish government’s continued support in peace and development efforts.



She informed that Finland is upgrading the mission in Nepal to the ambassador level and the ambassador designate Asko Luukainen will take up assignment from September, 2011.
