DoC team inspects LPG dealers, fuel pump

KATHMANDU, May 16: A monitoring team of Department of Commerce (DoC) on Wednesday inspected two liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) dealers at Pepsicola Town Planning and a fuel refilling station at Shantinagar.



According to Shankar Prasad Poudel, director of DoC, the team found that Chandni Gas Supply Center at Pepsicola Town Planning did not have necessary documents -- dealer registration and certificate permanent account number (PAN) certificates - to run business. [break]Similarly, it found another dealer - Sagarmatha Gas - of operating business without erecting signboard, as required by existing laws.



The team also tested fuel samples at Harisiddhi Oil Store at Shantinagar and concluded that the samples meet the quality standard set by Nepal Oil Corporation.



Bishnu Prasad Regmi, section officer of DoC and leader of the monitoring team, instructed promoters of Chandni Gas Supply Center to furnish necessary documents at DoC within three days.



Similarly, it instructed promoters of Sagarmatha Gas Udhyog to immediately erect signboard and submit proof of it to the department within three days.
