Lightning claims lives of four women

BARA, July 2: Four women were killed after lightning struck them at Kalaiya Sub-Metropolitan City-12 and Feta Rural Municipality-1 in Bara district on Thursday morning.

APF border out post established at Pancheshwar

BAITADI, July 2: A border out post (BOP) of the Armed Police Force, Nepal has been set up at Pancheshwar in Baitadi district. The APF BOP was established at Rolghat in Pancheshwar Rural Municipality-1 on Wednesday. A team of 35 APF personnel under the command of APF, Nepal Inspector will be stationed in Pancheshwar.

KATHMANDU, July 2: Manish Khadka decided to shut down his screen printing business that he had been running in Patan as he was not certain when he would be able to return home from Indonesia. He had left for Indonesia on March 6 for a short trip but was left stranded for more than three months due to abrupt suspension of international flights to and from Nepal.

KATMANDU, July 1: Strength carried over from previous session on Wednesday’s trading, as stocks shot up since the beginning of the trading session. With the Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) index surging to hit the first circuit limit of 4 percent in the first half an hour, trading was halted for 20 minutes. After resumption, Nepse hit another circuit limit of 5 percent at mid-day further forcing another trading break of 40 minutes. Nepse quickly shot up to 6 percent, finally triggering a trading end for the day. Eventually, Nepse ended the day at 1,336.52 points.

Digital x-ray service replaces manual in Khotang hospital

KHOTANG, July 1: Khotang District Hospital has brought digital x-ray service in operation for the first time. This is expected to make services in the hospital efficient. The hospital had only a manual x-ray machine earlier.
