KATHMANDU, Sept 30: Nepal has secured a victory in the ongoing triangular T20 cricket series in Canada.
In the match held last night in King City of Canada, Nepal achieved its first victory by defeating Oman by 37 runs.

Chasing a target of 177 runs, Oman lost all their wickets in 19.1 overs, managing to score only 139 runs. Shoaib Khan contributed the most for Oman with 45 runs. Additionally, Rafiullah scored 33 runs, while Fayyaz Butt added 17 runs.
While restricting Oman to 139 runs, Nepal's Karan KC took three wickets, and Kushal Bhurtel claimed two wickets. Rijan Dakal, Dipendra Singh Airee, and Sandeep Lamichhane each took one wicket. Earlier, after losing the toss and being invited to bat first, Nepal scored a total of 176 runs, losing six wickets in the allotted 20 overs.
Gulshan Jha contributed the highest for Nepal with 40 runs, hitting three fours and three sixes off 17 balls. Similarly, Kushal Malla added 30 runs, scoring with two fours and two sixes off 26 balls. Aasif Sheikh and Anil Shah both scored 27 runs each, with Aasif hitting one four and two sixes off 22 balls, while Anil scored his 27 runs with the help of three fours and one six off 21 balls.
Kushal Bhurtel scored 20 runs, while captain Rohit Paudel was out for 2 runs. In terms of bowling, Oman's Aqib Ilyas took the most wickets, claiming three, while Sakil Ahmed, Fayyaz Butt, and Zeeshan Maqsood each took one wicket.
In the first match of the triangular T20 series, Nepal was defeated by Canada by 14 runs. This was Nepal's second match in the series and Oman's first. Nepal will play its third match against Canada on Tuesday.
