Woman burnt to death in Dhanusha

JANAKPUR, April 12: Locals of Bharatpur in Dhanusha district have burnt to death a woman alive for allegedly abducting a child.



The locals burnt the unidentified woman alive for allegedly trying to abduct Raju Bishwakarma’s two-and-half-year-old son, Manish Bishwakarma. The locals and Bishwakarma’s family had beaten up and severely injured the woman on Saturday night, but police reached the incident site only at 10 a.m. Sunday. The Area Police Office is three kilometers away from the site. [break]



Indra Ale, a local, said that the police didn’t reach the site on time despite being informed about the incident. The locals burnt the woman alive at Charnath River near the village. The dead body is kept at Janakpur Zonal Hospital.



Before her death, the woman had said that she was Dhanmaya Bhetwal from Narbarti-8 of Simara. She looked like a Nepali but had spoken in Hindi.
